Exhausted!

Well, it's been over a week since I posted anything of substance. I can't believe how busy I've been! There has only been one day in the past two weeks when I haven't had to go somewhere! I've had doctors' appointments, lunch with friends, stamping with friends, errands to run, the list is endless! Unfortunately my energy is not as endless as my list of things to do! LOL!!! That's one thing I've definitely learned with this head injury - I no longer have an "energy reserve". You know what I mean - that boost of energy that keeps you plugging along and doing the things that must be done even when you are dead on your feet? I don't have that anymore. When I'm tired, I'm done. If I push beyond that I'll be out of sorts for days and I think it does more harm than good for me.

I have been invited to stamp with a group of ladies from church tomorrow and Tuesday, but I have reached my energy limit. I may wake up in the morning and feel like a million bucks, but I'm not counting on it. The only thing that I MUST do this week is see my doctor about the neuropsychologist referral. Other than that, I'm going to be like Brer Fox and lay low.

If you're not familiar with Brer Fox, go directly to your local library and check out "Uncle Remus" by Joel Chandler Harris. If you can't make it to the library, check out this link: http://xroads.virginia.edu/~ug97/remus/tar-baby.html . My daddy used to read Uncle Remus stories to my sister and me when we were little. Being from Mississippi, he could read it beautifully - perfect annunciation. I've always loved those old stories. You can say they are racist and fuss about them in a million other ways, but I think they are part of our nation's history and shouldn't be squashed. Okay, on to another topic.....

Being busy has been very good for me, I think. I have finished some stamping projects. I've had wonderful times visiting with friends I don't see often enough. I survived a having a jewelry show last weekend at my sisters, so my business is picking up very slowly. I've deep cleaned our kitchen and living room, and last week I even tackled our closet. It's been neglected for way too long. I even had Ed move his footlockers in the bottom of hte closet and clean behind them. He wasn't happy about it, but it's done now and it didn't kill him! :) We have purged a good bit of stuff and my "yard sale" pile is growing!

When I'm a bit more rested, I'll tell you a little more about my recent discoveries about my health. Nothing exciting, but some of you may find it interesting. Until then, I'll share with you a picture of the notebooks I made for my sister's show. My friend Emily gave me one of these at the Austin SCS gathering last year and I carry it in my purse - it's wonderful! Thanks for the inspiration, Em!
