Highlights....

It's been a while since I posted, but I've been one busy girl! My MIL came to visit last Thursday and was here until Monday. We had a great visit! Here are the highlights of the weekend....

Mom arrived Thursday night! I woke up sick Thursday morning, and spent quite a while at the doctor's office. By the time I got home I didn't have any "oomph" left to go to Austin with Ed to pick up Mom.

Friday I was still feeling pretty crummy, so we spent a quiet day at home. We went out for yummy BBQ for supper and then hit the rodeo. Great time! I'm surprised that I made it through the entire thing. I took my anti-seizure meds and wore earplugs through the entire thing, but I made it!

Saturday was another quiet day visiting with Mom, and then Ed took me to a friend's house and a SURPRISE BIRTHDAY PARTY! Talk about surprised! I had NO CLUE! He had asked some of my friends to plan it, and they did a GREAT job! Unfortunately I don't have any pics. Ed didn't take the camera. :(

Sunday we went to church, had a quiet afternoon, and then went to my parents' house for supper. We sat out on the deck for a couple of hours after supper. It was surprisingly comfortable out there for July! I got my b-day gift from my parents and sister, too. They gave me a James Avery charm bracelet w/ three charms (TX, quilts, Little Sister). I've debated for years whether or not I wanted one. I'm glad Mom made a command decision and bought one for me! :)

Monday we took Ed's mom to the airport and did a little shopping while we were in Austin. I managed to talk him into taking me to the little stamp shop that sells A Muse stamps. I bought several, including the Flourish Tree stamp that was released on Monday. I haven't had the energy to use them yet, but I will soon!

Yesterday I had several appointments, bought groceries, and then collapsed on the sofa and watched The Other Boleyn girl. Today has been a very quiet day, which I desperately need! I've worked on some thank you cards and some gifts for my LOSTie secret sister. I'd love to post some pics, but I can't yet. That's it! If I get some pics of my party and my cake I'll post them.

Suz, it sounds like you have had a fun time!

I bet your James Avery bracelet is beautiful. Are you doing silver or gold charms? I imagine that you will have it full of good ol' Texas-styled charms within a year or so. There are so many cute charms to pick from.
