And so another month goes by without any word from moi on how things are going in the great state of insanity, um, I mean Texas, so here's a quick update....
- Bryan graduates next Friday night. Hard to believe, isn't it? I swear last summer he was only 10, and now he'll be leaving for Army boot camp in just 6 weeks!
- Ed's job is once again secure, as Aegis Corp bought the local Sallie Mae building and agreed to employ 350 of the Sallie Mae employees. The official transition takes place next Friday. As Facilities Manager, Ed's crazy busy right now, but he's very happy to have a job!
- I saw a new neurologist this week in hopes of getting answers to lingering issues from my head injury three years ago. I was really impressed with this doctor and hope to actually get some real answers from him and not just a "go live your life and be happy".
- I have not had any seizures since I started taking Topomax about three months ago. It is wonderful to begin to get a bit of my life back!
- I drove to Austin BY MYSELF last weekend. That's the first time I've done since January of 2007!
- Ed and I celebrated our 12th anniversary this past week. Let's hope the 13th year is better than the 12th was.
- My son turns 18 this coming week. That's so hard to believe. If I'd know at the time that he would be the only child I'd ever be able to have, I never would have agreed to place him for adoption, but his life has been so much better because of my choice. It was, without a doubt, the hardest choice I have ever made.
That's about it in a nutshell. Life with a stressed out 18 year old keeps us on a never ending emotional roller coaster, but we're hanging in there. I've done no stamping at all in months. I do need to make graduation cards, so just maybe I'll blog those in the next week or so.
