Three months ago yesterday I hit my head. I can't believe that a quarter of a year is gone and I really don't have much memory of it, other than frustration and a lot of twitching!
Three months seems to be a sort of milestone according to most of the books and websites we've read. Many people have recovered all mental functions by the end of three months. I have recovered a lot, but I'm still having issues with things that aren't related to Post Concussion Syndrome, such as writing, multi-tasking (such as cooking or driving), planning (the concept of how much time it takes to do something completely escapes me!), sequencing (I tend to put things in reverse order from how they should be), short-term memory, and "thinking speed" for lack of a better term.
We had a neurology appointment yesterday to discuss all the stuff I'm still having trouble with. The doctor thinks some occupational therapy might be advantageous, so I have an appointment on Monday morning for that. I've never been to occupational therapy before and really have no clue what to expect. I'll be sure and let you know how it goes!
As for Sam - he has to go back to the vet again tomorrow. His leg is swollen again today, so the vet wants to sedate him, drain the fluid that is building up in there and try to attach a bandage that our Houdini-dog can't get out of. I'll let you know how that goes, too!
